Back again

Hi Guys,

We’ve been away for sometime, I’m struggling to give the blog the time it needs at the moment. Its funny isn’t? Before it was all about getting posts out but now I just coming here to write, getting all my thought out. I’m sure the owners of the products that need reviewing are having kittens…..don’t worry all reviews will be done in the 7 days.

We’ve been home to Ireland for a family wedding, it was so nice to get away, we were so lucky with the Irish weather, Ireland is such a beautiful country but when the sun shines on it, it really takes your breath away. I of course have to do some serious damage control on the old waist line now but I’m back in the gym tomorrow. I just have to try to get everyone up and out the door for school tomorrow, both kids have gone down without a fight tonight, they slept until 09:45 this morning….it felt like christmas morning when I woke up. Unfortunately expat daddy didn’t even bother going to bed last night when we got in at midnight, as he had to be back up to the airport at 5am to fly to America. It was a matter of unpack one set of clothes and pack another. So sad, the children are missing him already and it’s his birthday tomorrow too šŸ˜¦ we had such a lovely time altogether as a family.

What else happened…….Oh Miss C is now mobile and terrorising anyone and anything in her path, she’s tottering around like Bambi on ice, looking VERY proud of herself, she met her first horse and drove her first tractor….well not quite but she sat in it. The same tractor her daddy learnt to drive in will refrain from making sarcastic driving joke hereĀ . As did LPV, he came into his own, he’s mad about the horse and dogs and gave aunty M strict interactions there are to be chickens on his return to West Cork in the summer.

The wedding was awesome, I fitted into my dress so I was happy-ish, it made me realise that there is still such a long way to go, I think I put too much pressure on me fitting to said dress, everything isn’t going to be ok now, the body worries are still there but they won’t be for long. Like I said awesome wedding, bride was divine……the party, as always was epic but at 4am we had to give in and go to bed, we sang for our supper *everyone has to* and went to rest our weary bones. I’m way too old to party all night now.

Tale of 5 countries

As I tweeted yesterday, I had to come back to Holland for an outpatients appointment from my hospital admission earlier this month. I didn’t mind, I’ve been reunited with my husband whom I haven’t seen for almost 3 weeks.

Whilst having tea with my Neighbour last night it dawned on me I’m doing 5 countries in 4 days. Now I know we’re a family of many travels but this is ridiculous and thank the heavens above the children are with Gma & Gdad and will miss most of it.

Tuesday: England to Holland (Me) Dubai to Holland (EPD)
Wednesday: Holland to Belgium***
Thursday: Belgium to France to England
Friday: England to Ireland

Now I can’t ever pipe up and say we have a boring life, can I? I’m currently typing as we’re on our way to Den Haag to the Irish embassy to pick up LPV’s new passport! Then it’s off to Bruges, where we’ll stay overnight thankfully, as it to much driving for a tired, jet lagged EPD. Up early in the morning to catch the 10am tunnel crossing from Calais to Folkstone. Then heading to sunny Brissle so we can be reunited as a family (first time in almost 3 weeks), recharge and then ready to leave on Friday morning for the long and tedious drive along the M4 to Fishguard man I hate that drive . 4 hours over the calm and pleasant…..ahem, Irish Sea finishing off the mammoth expedition with a 3 hour drive to Cork.

The answer is YES, we are farking insane, it actually helps to be when you travel as much as we do. The iPad will be charged, Sophie the Giraffe and Thomas the tank will be bursting out of our pockets and the car packed up within an inch of its life!

Bon Voyage

***currently we’re on the hard shoulder where EPD is effing and Jeffing at the maxi cosy base as it keeps continually beeping..

Terrible travel

It’s no secret that we travelled a lot before Miss C was born, I was keen to keep it up. Alright, obviously not to the extent of last year but I didn’t want her to hate being in the car, plane etc. finally her passport arrived so we decided to bring her home to Ireland to be christened!

Ah how lovely! Yes in theory! Don’t get me wrong now were here its fab but if I’m honest we’ve had the most supremely crappy day!

Traveling with children under 3 could be used as form as punishment or deterrent for teenage pregnancy, trust me if they had the flight we had today, they’d never have sex!

The trouble started with trying to figure out the newborn insert for the Ergo baby, it was like being on the parenting krypton factor! Full on domestics over a baby carrier while the toddler is screaming from the buggy for “snuggy & na” of course then were at the furthest departure gate, one 40 mile trek later we get to the gate to find out we’re delayed! Que one baby melt down!

We finally get on the plane, Miss C goes to sleep, and breath…………………..LPV kicks off, “back house daddy, back house” Umm sorry dude were kind of stuck! Que one toddler melt down, which involves daddy’s glasses going flying!

Finally we calm down the toddler & the baby wakes up! Takes a feed, so I finally think she’ll sleep, Oh mammy your sadly mistaken! The two of them had obviously plotted against us to make this the flight from hell!

The plane lands, the passengers depart, apart from us who have to crawl between plane seats to search for the AWOL arm of daddy’s glasses. Two flight attendants entertain and hold our kids the other joins us on the floor!

We finally get through passport control, get our bags and get home!

There you have it, a trip not for the faint hearted & guess what? We get to do it all again on Tuesday night!
